LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
Meeting of Eastbourne Branch A combined meeting of fathers aud mothers of the Eastbourne branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Eastbourne Masonic Hall recently. Owing to the illness of the president, Mrs. Wise, the chair was taken by Mrs. Shearer. The meeting was well attended considering the cold and wintry conditions. Mrs. Kersley, provincial president, gave a short talk on the “Aims and Objects of the League.” Suitable solos were contributed by Mrs. Stewart and Miss Bowie. Mr. L. Greenberg, general secretary of the Wellington Y.M.C.A., gave a most interesting address on the “March of Youth,” concluding with a plea for parents to try and put themselves in the place of their children and see things through their eyes. Mr. XX r ise passed a vote of thanks to the speaker, which was carried by acclamation. Mrs. Greenberg, who is a league member, accompanied Mr. Greenberg and was the recipient of a beautiful box of flowers*.
