4, Annual Meeting in Wellington The Wellington German Club resumed its activities recently when the annua! •general meeting was held. There was an attendance of about 50 members. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Dr. Hellenthal; president, Professor G. W. von Zedlitz; vice-presidents, Professor F. F. Miles, Mrs. E. McKinnon, Mr, Bornholdt; secretary. Dr. A. C. Keys; treasurer, Mr. K. Fuhomnnn; committee, Mr. and Mrs. E. Parsons, Misses U. Tewsley and E. Pharazyn. The ex-con-sul for New Zealand, Mr. AV. Penseler. was elected an honorary life member. Later in the evening Miss Irene Hirst, recently returned from a trip abroad, entertained members with songs. At the first social evening for the year Mrs. Pallo and Mrs. Parsons presented an amusing dialogue. This was preceded by the reading by Dr. Keys of a short story by Wildenbruch.
