Destinations of Exports LARGE INCREASE FOR U.S.A. The exports of wool from the Commonwealth of Australia from July’ 1, 1936. to March 31, 1937, totalled 2,<>49,093 bales, a decrease of 72,202 bales compared with the corresponding period of the previous season. Shipments to the principal destinations are as follows:—
Shipments* to djjtjjnited Kingdom include wools een.tt|fi I.ondon for resale. Exports to consignments in process of transport to France. Increases for the nine months are shown by the United States 145,118 bales. United Kingdom 86,636 bales, Italy 40,451 bales', Belgium 67,115 bales, Germany 26,726 bales, France 11.679 bales, Austria 5722 bales, China anti Hong-Kong 1300 bales. Shipments to Japan ior the period display a decrease of 478.464 bales. .Japan resumed purchasing in Australia on January 1 last. It is of interest to note that exports from the Commonwealth to Japanese porta from January 1 to March 31, 1937, were 189,603 bales'; 1936, 196,461 bales; and 1935, 302,829 bales. The totals are not an exact guide to Japan's purchases, ns some of the quantities bought are shipped in later months, but the figures indicate that she has not over-rushed wool buying in Australia.
