Back to 48-Hour Week Rome, April 19. Forty per cent, of Italian workers are to cease the -10-hour week, introduced in 1935. The Prime Minister. Signor Mussolini, has suspended tlie shorter period “in all industries in which economic recovery bus led to a large increase in orders.” They are permitted to employ workers for 48 hours a week or longer. Rearmament, workers are allowed to work 60 hours a week. All shipyards still in private hands are to pass under State control, according to a new decree.
