PLAYS AND DANCING

Repertory Social Evening There is always a large attendance at the social evenings which the Wellington Repertory Theatre holds every month, and again last night an excellent programme was presented to an enthusiastic audience of members and ( friends .at St. Francis Hall. Miss Constance Morice acted as hostess for the evening, assisted by Mrs. J. W. Jack, Misses Irene Spidy, Yvonne Holmes. Joan Smith, Dorothy Barr, and Nola Hammond. The plays were as follows: “Symphony in illusion,” an allegory in one act by James Wallace Bell. This was a symbolic play in three movements. The players were Mrs. Charles Anderson, Mrs. J. G. Young, Mrs. Frank McLean, Misses Margery Bates, Tior.a Meadows, and Mrs. Craig Mackenzie, who also produced the play. “Fishing,” a diverting sketch in mime arranged by H. Norman Hannah, the fishermen being Messrs. W. J. McKeon and H. Norm.an Hannah. “Something to Talk About,” a comedy by Eden Philpotts. Miss Kyrsty Page was the producer, with the following cast: Mrs. W. A. Martin, Miss Joy Hodgson, and Messrs. E. S. Baldwin, Arthur O. Heany, H. A. Painter, John Proudfoot,' and N. V. Wotton. “Catesby,” a sketch by Percival Wilde, with Miss Mary White and Mr. H. Nqrman Hannah. Incidental music was provided by Mrs. Charles McDonald, Miss Ormi Reid, and Miss Olga Burton, and an excellent orchestra played for the dancing which was enjoyed afterwand.
