FIRE AT GREYTOWN

“Standard” Building Destroyed Dominion Special Service Greytoivn, March 31. The building and plant of the "Wairarapa Standard,” Grey town, were totally destroyed by lire between 10 o’clock and 10.30 to-night. Owing to a breakdown of the firebell the alarm was not given until the fire had a good hold, and although the brigade did good work it was unable to save the building or plant. The frames, cases and type were all destroyed. The cause of the outbreak is not known. Mr. R. G. Vile, editor and proprietor of the “Standard,” was attending a farewell to the Rev. C. IT. Isaacson, vicar of Greytown, when he was informed that the building was mi li re. The insurances arc £lOOO on the plant and £-100 on the building,
