Roosevelt Reaffirms His Election Promises

At a Press conference President Roosevelt reaffirmed bis election promises not to propose new taxes at the next, session of Congress. He avoided committing himself regarding balancing the Budget. He indicated, however. that the Budget for the next fiscal year would not be larger than that of the current year.

President Roosevelt cautioned journalists not to "go out on the limb” in describing the Administration's plans. He added that whatever changes would be made in the corporate taxes would not be.retroactive because the Government needs money.
