“30 M.P.H. TOO HIGH”

Johnsonville Speed Limit The opinion that 30 m.p.h. would be too high a speed to allow through Johnsonville was expressed by members of the Johnsonville Town Board last night, and the board decided to notify the Transport Department that, while it agreed with uniformity of by-laws, it considered speed on the main roads through Johnsonville should be limited to 25 m.p.h., and that it would like to confer with an officer of tlie department.

The lengths of main road on which it is thought the speed should not be higher 'than 25 m.p.h. are those from the northern boundary of the town district to Old Porirua Road, on the old main road, and from the northern boundary to Waterloo Road, on the new road to Khandallah.

It was stated that the board once had a speed limit of 15 m.p.h., but it had repealed that, so that the regulation limiting the speed in towns to 25 m.p.h. has governed the speed of vehicles in Johnsonville.
