FREE KINDERGARTEN

Concert For Funds Despite the wintry weather on Tuesday night, the Trades Hall held a large and appreciative audience when a bright entertainment was presented in aid of Wellington free kindergarten funds. An excellent programme of sketches, songs, recitations, musical numbers, solo dances and ballets was given by Miss Margaret Oates’s juvenile concert party. Mr. Ken Rigby made an efficient stage manager. The following contributed: Misses J. Graham, G. Lockerbie, M. Preston, L. Coddle, D. Atkin, J. Sargent, L. Savage, Anne Boe, Dawn Sargent, S. Packer, S. Taigel, M. McKenzie, P. Peachey, T. Rigby, C. Grainger, M. Jacobs, E. Magee, J. Gallaher, S. Gardiner, J. Robertson, Mary Scott and F. Kirkbeck, Messrs. Turner and R. Williams; Masters John Dexter, Ralph Wilkin, Reg Rigby, Rejt Jacobs, Lawrence Constable and Bernie Green. Miss Oates and Miss Wilkenson were the accompanists. During the interval Mrs. J. A. Doctor, president of Wellington Free Kindergarten Association, thanked all those who had assisted in the arrangements of the concert The National Anthem brought a very happy evening to a close.
