BLOOD TRANSFUSION

Use of Wellington Service Since February 1, 1936, there have been 98 calls, 70 for female patients and 28 for males, on the services of members of the Wellington Blood Tranrfusion Service, which operates under the auspices of the Wellington centre of the St. John Ambulance Association. The regrouping of donors is now practically complete, and all members have passed the necessary test. The increasing use to which medical practice is putting blood transfusion is reflected in the number of calls made on the London Blood Transfusion Service. During the first nine months of 1932 there were 1798 calls, for a similar period of 1933 2219 calls, 1934 2908 calls, and 1935 3312 calls.
