WEDDING

Stott—White. The wedding was solemnised on July 18, at St. Giles’s Presbyterian Church, Kilbiruie, of Jessie Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. White, Upper Hutt, and granddaughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. James Mitchell,'Mataura, Soutnlaud, and Wilfred George, eldest son of Mr. Stott, Lyall Bay. The bride entered the church with her father, wearing a trained gown of white cloque, with a stripe of silver. The long tight sleeves were finished with tiny buttons, which also finished the back of the bodice. The high cowl neck was finished with a silver flower. Her embroidered net veil was held in place with a silver lame halo, and she carried a bouquet of freesias, Christmas roses and pink sweet peas. , The bridesmaids, Miss Ethel White and Miss Joyce Coleman, wore frocks of apple green georgette, with frilled godets and sashes and muffs of green velvet, and also wore green and pink roses as circlets on their hair. The best man was Mr. George Coleman, and Mr. B. White was groomsman. During the signing of the register, Miss McKinley sang a solo, and as the bride and bridegroom left the church Mr. Sewart played the bagpipes. A reception was later held at Scott’s tea room, where the bride's mother received the guests wearing a blue twopiece costume and hat to tone. When the bride and bridegroom left for the south, Mrs. W. G. Stott wore a brown tailored suit, with fawn camelhair coat and hat to match. * • s> *' Brown—Wilson The wedding was solemnised at St. George’s Church, Seatoun, recently, of Nancy Rolfe, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Wilson, “Manaaki,” Waikanae, to Lawrence F., youngest son of Mr. A. A. Brown and the late Mrs. Brown, of “Paetawa,” Waikanae. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. Stent, of Carterton, an old friend of the bride’s family. Owing to the indisposition of the bride’s father the bride was given away by Mr. R. Wilson.

The bride wore a charming frock of dusky pink lace and burgundy felt hat softly trimmed with velvet, and shoes to match. Her bouquet was of pink luculia and deep-toned Christmas roses. She was attended by her youngest sister, Pat, who wore forget-me-not blue lace over satin with georgette drapings from the shoulder. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations, roses, and forget-me-nots. Mr. H. le Souef was best man.

After the ceremony a small reception was held at "The Gables,” Seatoun, the home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. W. H. Green.

The guests were received by Mrs. Wilson, who wore a smart brown ensemble with fawn hat to tone, and bouquet of autumn tonlngs, and Mrs. C. Wootton, sister of the bridegroom, wearing a brown costume and hat with furs, and bouquet of dull red tonlngs. When,Mr. and Mrs. L. F, Brown left for the north the latter travelled in a suit of dull, pink and brown accessories with fur coat,
