COMBINED TRAMPING CLUBS’ BALL
Always an eagerly anticipated event among trampers of Wellington, the Combined Tramping Clubs’ annual ball, held in the St. Francis Hall last night, was a particularly enjoyable and successful one. The night was a very bitter one, but the coldness outside only lent emphasis to the warmth and gaiety in the hall, where a large crowd of members and their friends danced to the strains of an excellent orchestra. The hall with its deep crimson curtains an.d orange streamers was further decorated with touches of greenery, and tho gay, painted background of the stage where the orchestra was housed added yet another touch of colour to the scene. In the supper-room, the long tables were bright with brown wicker baskets of orange jonquils and wattle, and a dainty savoury supper added to the success of the evening.
