LOCAL BODIES’ OFFICERS’ GUILD DANCE
The Concert Chamber of the Town Hall was gaily decorated with flags last night and many couples danced to the strains of an excellent orchestra, when the Wellington Centre Local Bodies’ Officers’ Guild held the second of their series of dances for this year. Those present were members of the staff of the City Corporation and their friends, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. During the evening a welltrained ballet danced to the evident enjoyment of all present and an exhibition of the Rumba was greatly appreciated. A Monte Carlo dance was very popular and much amusement was caused by the novelty, “Traffic Officers’ ” dance. A tempting supper was handed round. The committee responsible for the success of the dance comprised: Mr. F. Malcolm (chairman), Miss James, Miss Prince, Miss Dalton, Miss Fitzgibbon, Messrs. Kennedy (M.C.), Bell, G. Smith, MacGregor, Mitchell,■ H. E. Nicholls (secretary).
