Petone BoAvling Club
Referring to the satisfactory financial position of the Petone Bowling Club at ita annual meeting last night the outgoing president. Air. J. H. Lowry, said it was quite within the power of members to take steps to wipe out the existing debt on the club property. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £6.3. The election of officers resulted: President, Air. G. IL Cates: immediate past president, Mr. J. IL Robertson; vicepresident, Air. G. Findlay: honorary sec-retary-treasurer, Mr. O. Silbery; management committee, Messrs. AV. P. Coles, AV. Pare, IL Appleyard, G. D. McEwen, A. Bush and AV. T. Kerr; delegate to Wellington Bowling Centre, Mr. J. W. Johnson; delegates to Hutt Valley tournament committee, Alesei’s. P. AlcArthur, AV. L. Lanham and AV. T. Kerr; honorary auditors, Messrs. E. 8. Jones and AV. Pcre; match committee, ATessrs. D. Hunter, AV. B. Gough, and J. R. Robertson; games manager, Air. T. Johnson. Mr. O. Silbery was appointed sole selector for Saturday pennant, banner, cup and friendly matches. It was decided the match committee should act in the sole selector’s absence. Air. AV. B. Gough was appointed sole selector for AVednesday games. The following trophies were presented: Champion singles, Air. O. Silbery; champion pairs, Alessrs. H. Firth and J. Ibell; junior singles, 1934-35. Air. H. Edlin; junior singles, 1935-36, Air. W. Kerr. Mr. D. Hunter was congratulated on being runner-up in the club championship in three successive seasons.
