COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

Gay Evening at Lower Hutt

Air. and Airs. J. Hunter, of Lower Hutt, entertained about 120 guests on Wednesday evening, the occasion being the twenty-first birthday of their daughter, Sybil. Dancing was held in fflie supperroom of the Horticultural Hall, the long, hoi'seshoe-sliaped tables being arranged in the large hall, adorned with iceland poppies. Tbe white iced cake was decorated with twenty-one kewpies. The health of the guest of the evening was proposed by Air. B. Mitchell, and that of her parents by Mr. Peck. During the evening Aliss F. Clout and Air. Butterfield convocal duets, and Air. C. Aluir reviled. Air, N. Clapham and Air. A. Lam; bert acted as Al.C.’s. and the Alaori Alelody Alakers provided music for the dancing. Air. and Airs. J. Hunter received the guests, the latter wearing blue matalasse with blue velvet coatee, the guest of the evening being in silver lace. Her sister, Airs. N. Hunter, wore blue and silver taffetas, and Airs. E. Hunter's frock was in black velvet.
