Walters—Kilford
The wedding was solemnised at the Takapau Presbyterian Church recently of Richard John, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Walters, Takapau, and Joyce Irene, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Kilford, Ratanui.
The church was daintily decorated with ivy geraniums, pelargoniums and hydrangeas in an appropriate setting of ferns and greenery. The decorations were carried out by Miss M. McLeod rin<i members of tile Bible class. The wedding ceremony was jierformed by (he Rev. 11. S. Scott, M.A., and Miss McLeod officiated at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming In a frock of
white needlerun lace over white satin, modelled on long, slim lines. The cowl neckline was caught, with a pearl dip and the long fitting sleeves finished with, points over the hands. Close-fit-ting to the kuees, the skirt fell with a graceful flare aud short train. The white tulle veil, daintily embroidered, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet of fern and roses. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. A. Jackson, and Miss Mavis Christiansen. Mrs. Jackson's frock was in margai’et rose pink and Miss Christiansen wore marina green radium lace. Both frocks were cut on graceful lines with full-flared skirts. The bodices were finished with pretty capes edged with two matching net frills aud had cowl necklines caught with diamante flower clips. They wore felt halo hats and satin shoes and carried bouquets of Iceland poppies and fern. Mr. Bernard Bayliss was best man and Mr. Ray Kilford gromsman. Master John Hnrward, dressed in a white silk page suit, was train-bearer. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Takapau Hall, the guests being received by Mr. and Mrs. Kilford, the latter wearing a frock of midnight blue georgette ami lace, with hat-to match, ami carrying a bouquet of red flowers and maidenhair fern; and Mr. and Mrs. Walters (the latter in an ensemble of crepe de chine in rust shade, with hat and gloves to tone; she carried a pretty bouquet). When Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Walters loft on. a motor tour of the south, the latter travelled in a marina blue costume, with hat and accessories to tone. She carried n blue coat: to nmteb. with grey squirrel collar. Their future home will be at “Watea,” Takapau.
