Motor Accident Case Heard As a result of a ear driven by Mr. Speedy crashing into a house belonging to Colonel Glourie, an action was heard recently under the auspices of the Wellington Law Students’ Society. Defendants were Speedy, the owner of the ear, and Spanner, a motor mechanic, who hud been responsible for testing the brakes of the car. Colonel Glourie sued for the damage to his property, and Mrs. Glourie claimed damages for the shock she .suffered, which resulted in her sleepwalking.

Judgment, in respect of both claims was given for plaintiffs against the second defendant. Spanner, and judgment was also entered for the first defendant, Speedy, his costs being ordered to be paid direct by defendant Spanner. Plaintiffs were represented by Mr. I. Thomas. LL.B., and Mr. R. S. C. Agar. Mr. 11, G. Duncan, and with him Mr. T. G. N. Carter, appeared for defenda-nt, Speedy. Mr. H. J. Evans, and with him Mr. L. G. Rose, appeared for defendant, Spanner. The judge. Mr. W. I’. Rollings, 8.A., LL.B., alter delivering the judgment, gave some very valuable advice to counsel.
