NEW DESTROYERS
Orders For British Firms I British Ofllcial Wireless.) (Received May 20. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, May 19. Subject to the settlement of certain points of detail, the Admiralty has decided to entrust the construction of nine trial class destroyers of the 193 G programme to the following firms: — Swan, Hunter and Wigham Richardson, Wallsend-on-Tyne, two vessels, vxith machinery by the Wallsend Slipway and Engineering Company; W. Denny and Brothers, Dumbarton, two vessels: the Parsons Marine Steam Turbine Co., Wallsend-on-Tyne, two vessels with hulls by Vickers Armstrong; Scotts’ Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.. Greenock, two vessels; and A. Stephen and Sons. Govan, one vessel.
