Dempster Makes 164 Not Out London, May 19. There were some particularly interesting results in the series of county cricket matches which was completed to-day and heavy scoring on some grounds contrasted with low totals on others. One of the biggest wins of the series was registered at the expense of Sussex by Leicestershire, for whom the former New Zealander, C. S. Dempster, made 164 not out. In a low-scor-ing match Worcestershire beat Yorkshire by 11 runs, Verity secured 13 wickets at a total cost of SS runs. Though they were 43 runs behind on the first innings Derbyshire managed to defeat Surrey by 16 runs, the latter team being dismissed in the second innings for Kent held the lead in the championship by preserving their unbroken run of outright wins.
