FLYING AT NIGHT

Novelty at Palmerston North Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North. May 20. An air-liner flying fully illuminated at dusk was seen in Palmerston North yesterday. the spectacle being unique at least for residents of this city. One of Union Airways’ De llavillniid liners circled round and round the town, during the course of a wireless test, presenting n pretty sight, witli its cabin ablaze with light, and the coloured flying lights in the wings and tail unit shining brightly. During the past few days and again this afternoon the co-pilots of the company have kept, the machines in the air for many hours during the afternoons, logging their hours in control of the liners, so that they will be qualified to take complete charge of the machines when loaded with passenger and freight. Each of the co-pilots has to undergo wireless tests while in control of the machines also.
