Both Markets Firm BUTTER AT 96/There was a further improvement in the Loudon butter market last week, and New Zealand finest closed firm at up to 96/- a cwt., a rise of 7/- on the week. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week totalled 1968 tons, compared with 2053 tons for the previous week and 1967 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries were 2186 tons, compared with 1772 tons It year ago. The Imperial Economic Committees estimated stocks of all butters in store is 534,485 boxes, against 826.161 boxes a year ago. New Zealand stored butter amounts to 4472 tons, including 851 tons ex the Australia Star, compared with 4176 lons for the previous week and 7095 lons a year ago. Australian butter in store totals 4043 tons, against 7874 toys ’ The" cheese market also continues firm, prices showing an advance of 1/- to 1/6 on the week. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 20,006 crates, against 22.474 crates a year ago, while the quantity in store is now 99,39< crates, compared with 169,620 crates a year ago. The minimum prices are subject to agents’ selling commission of 1J per cent. The prices are equivalent to 92/10 c.i.f.e. for butter and 51/6 c.i.f.e. for cheese. War Risk. The board has been advised by its London office that war risk has been reduced to sd. per cent, not for shipments after the Rotorua, subject to alteration without notice. Agents’ Reports. The Bank of New South Wales has received the following cabled advice from its London office, dated May 15: —Butter, 98/-; cheese, while 58/-, coloured 55/6. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., have received from their principals. Trengrouse and Nathan Ltd., London, the following cabled advice, dated May 15: —New Zealand butter. 95/- to 96/-. Market firm. New Zealand cheese: White, 57/6 to 58/-: coloured, 55/-. Market firm. The New Zealand Producers’ Co-opera-tive Marketing Association's weekly cabled market report from London dated May 15 is as follows: Butter: Market firm. New Zealand. 95/-; Panish. 102/-.
