The committee had been favourably placed in the last two years, states the report on the school’s finances. This had been due largely to the income from the tennis courts; it had' enabled the committee to meet its obligations after tlie capitation allowance: was exhausted. Parents continued to assist with the subscription a child a term scheme. Tn 1934-35, £7/18/8 had been raised by this means, and in 1935-36 the amount was £6/17/8. The balance in this fund was £2/11/10. The Postmaster-General had granted the school the use of £4 from its savings-bank fund for library purposes. Though the committee had not undertaken any big improvements lately, _ it had renewed the asphalt courts, being assisted by a grant of £l5 from the Education Board. Other work had been done in the school and grounds, and the board had undertaken improvements to the interior. Maintenance of the work done to the grounds under the No. 5 scheme was proving difficult and would continue to do so unless the capitation grant was increased. Sixty children were being supplied with milk by the Smith Family.
