WANGANUI CARNIVAL

“High Jinks” Opens at Cook’s Gardens Wanganui. March 5. Cook’s Gardens were brilliantly transformed to-night for the opening of the “High Jinks” 1036 carnival, which attracted a crowd of between three and four thousand. Multi-colouicd lights illuminated the entire oval, which was a merry scene of joviality. The star attraction was Putt Mossman and his daring circus of motor-cycle riders, who performed many thrilling stunts which the crowd fully appreciated. There were countries well-patronised attractions, and indications point to the carnival being an even greater success than in previous years.
