RETZLAFF BEATEN AT CHICAGO

It took Joe Louis only one minute 25 seconds' to-night to add Charley Retzlaff to his loug string of knock-out victims. A crowd of 15,000 paid about SO,OOO dollars to witness tin l fight, which few expected to last over a few rounds. Retzlaff was knocked completely limp, however, almost before spectators were aware that rhe bout was under way.
After Retzlaff missed his first punch, Louis unleashed a shower of paralysing rights and lefts which rained on his opponent’s head, face and jaw. He dropped to the floor for a count of seven, but managed to regain his feet, only to fall again, and this time for the full count. Louis weighed 199$ pounds and Retzlaff 1981 pounds.
