P.G.L.. representing Zealnndia Lodge No. 48, Newtown, and F. Reilly. P.G . William Gane Lodge No. 5, Sydney. N.S.W. ... J . Five members were reported on the ,<i | ’.< fund, and one off. relative sick-pay ami general accounts being passed. Several social invitations from kindred .lodges were accepted, and renorts of committees were received, the Christmas tree committee to report further at the next meeting. ‘ Four candidates were elected and initiated, and two further, candidates were nominated. It was decided to entertain members, wives and friends at an October meeting. Cards and supper terminated h very successful evening. Victor’s Rebekah Lodge No. 2. Newtown: Sister A. Palmer. N.G.. presided over a very large attendance of members and visitors. Two members were renorted sick, three candidates were nominated, and one member was admitted on transfer. Arrangements were made to hold a “500” evening the following week, and the lodge was closed to permit a fancy dress social being held, in which members present and friends took Part. Mr. C. Hood acted as M.C.. and Bro. H. Edmanson P.G.. and Mr. W. Miller were the musicians. Prizes for best fancy costumes went to Sister C. Edmanson, PNG. (“The Wreck”). Sister E. Hood, P N.G. (“Hiav.atha”). Mr. B. McKinnon (“Chinaman”), and Bro; W. H. Kelly, P.G. (“Mexican Bandit”). Special, prizes wptp w n n by “Mickey and Minnie Mouse.” - Southern Cross Lodge No. 24. .City: Bro. E. K. Binsted. N.G.. presided over a good attendance. . Sick-pay for nine members and general accounts totalling £4R / 0/8 were passed. ■ i One ca id'date was nominated and requisite investigations committee was set up. Reports of the lodge dispensary delegate (Bro. A. T. West. P.G.'), and the finance committee were adopted. ~ Invitations were accepted to Karori F.S. dance and Onslow Lodge No. 128, .Khandanah. An elimination, competition for the district ritual competitons next month, was conducted by Bros. P. J. Lee G.L. Ren., and C. Blakemore, P.G*. Zenlandia Lodge No. 48. - Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge No. 38: Sister L.. G. Hope. N.G.,. presided over a large attendance of members and visitors. General business was conducted: nine candidates were elected and initiated. and one candidate was nominated. First nom'nntiohs of officers for the next term were taken, and the evening, was concluded with songs. Star of Petdne Rebekah Lodge No. 4o: Sister B. Wilson, N.G.. presided over a good attendance. Orje candidate was elected and initiated. . Suggestions, were received regarding the future activities of the lodge, and it wa-.. also decided to hold a card evening after next meeting. Ngntitoa Lodge No. 143 Pnrirtiii: Bro. L. Swa inson, N.G.. presided over n good attendance of members. One member was reported sick, and genei-al business was conducted. An official visit was received from Bro F. K. Binsted. N.G.. and officers ot Southern Cross Lodge No. 24. who had cotne to compete for the district mOO shield. Bro. H. H. Coote. P.D.D.G.M . noted as judge, the competition resulting in a win for Ngatitoa Lodge by nine points td three, the lodge thus winning the shield for the Seventh time in succession. .. — ... .
