The following players will repiesent Wellington in the junior match against Wairarapa at Newtown Park to-mor-row, at 2 p.m.:— . D. Pointon, A. Woodrow, I. Birley, E. Gwilliam, L. Morrison, M. Broughton, P. Rolfe; M. Simpson, A. Laurie, P Nelson, T. Monk. Emergencies: B. Symonds, K. Thomas. . ... The Wairarapa teams will arrive by bus at the Town Hall about 11.30 a.m. They will be entertained at lunch and after the games will be tendered a dinner by the local association.
TEAMS AT GISBORNE Dominion Special Service. Gisborne, August 2. Hockey players from all oyer the Dominion have been arriving in Gisborne since yesterday to take part in the New Zealand women’s hockey tournament, which commences to-morrow, and the town presents a lively scene this evening with the visitors wearing their team colours and uniform. • To night the mayor, assisted by councillors and representatives of various Sports bodies, gave, the visitors a civic welcome, after which Mr. Owen Pritchard conducted an enthusiastic community The principal game to-morrow will be that be>tween Rastcni Southland, las-t year’s cup vvinners, and the Poverty Bay A team.
