At a not-far-distant date the famous English firm “Boots, the Chemists” will extend its activities to New Zealand, and negotiations have been taking place for them to take over the premises in Willis Street at present occupied by Messrs. Pinny, Limited. i This decision follows .upon the visit of a representative of Boots to Investigate the trade conditions in New Zealand; and during bis visit a careful survey of the business possibilities of both islands was made. The company, which has its headquarters at Nottingham, is the largest firm of retail chemists in the world. It has more than 18,000 employees and 1100 shops in Great Britain, and the staff includes 2000. qualified chemists, With more than 150 certificated and State registered nurses in their surgical departments.
