WEDDING

Baillie—Moyes A pretty wedding took place on Wednesday, July 3, at St. John’s Methodist Church, Nelson, when Kathleen Inez, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Moyes, of Grove Street, Blenheim, was married to James Harold, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs, J. F. Baillie, Eketahuna. The service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Burley, M.A., and Mr. Douglas Green presided at the organ. The bride’s gown was of ivory satin beaute, made on Grecian lines, and with bands of reverse material forming a V in front She wore her mother’s wedding veil of tulle, handembroidered in each corner with silver thread, and falling in graceful lines from a coronet of orange blossom to the bottom of her dress. Her bouquet was of irises, roses and maidenhair fern.

The bride was attended by two' bridesmaids, Enid and Edna Moyes, and a little flower-girl, Margaret Gilbertson. The bridesmaids’ full-length dresses were of two shades of pink satin, tight fitting, and had three flared frills at the bottom, as well as capes v/ith corresponding frills. The bridesmaids also wore pink capeline felt hats, trimmed with pastel shades, while they carried bouquets of iceland poppies. The flowergirl wore a dress of pale pink satin with a bandeau and posy of rosebuds.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Harold Cass, who earned out the (Intie., of best man, and Mr. John Barnes, of Wakapuaka, who acted as groomsman. After the ceremony, a reception was held at “The Ritz,” when approximately 80 guests were received by the bride’s mother, Mrs. Moyes, who wore a navy blue ensemble suit, with blue felt hat She carried a posy of Iceland popples. Mr. and Mrs. Baillie left the same night for a motor tour of the North Island. Their future home will be at Eketahuna.
