Bleak wind and mist aud sleet were experienced for the (irst day of tbc Ruapehu Ski Chib's annual winter sports meeting at National Bark, today.

Scratch downhill races were held over a course on Scoria Flat, as practice for to-morrow's championships. Results are as follow: —

Women’s novice: Miss M. Holt (Hastings), 1; Miss D. 0. Bank (Hastings), 2; Miss Z. O. Lloyd (Te Awamutu), 3. Women’s open: Miss E. N. Bond (Wanganui), 1; Miss E. E Wallace (Okahukura), 2; Miss I. A.
