London, November 29. The Putney by-election, necessitated by Mr. Samuel Samuel’s death, resulted:— Marcus Samuel (Conservative), nephew of the deceased member 15,599 Dr. Edith Summerskill (Labour) 12,936 The figures for the general election were: Samuel Samuel (C.). 27,318; J. C. Lawden (Lab.). 6172.
