VILLAGERS INCENSED
Landlord’s Agent Burned Alive Calcutta, November 29. An Indian landlord’s agent, accompanied by two policemen, went to collect rents in the village of Salem in South India, when the party was attacked by angry villagers armed with guns and hatchets. The agent was burnt alive in the centre of the village and one constable was killed.
