REFEREES DISAGREE
Nomination of Officers ASSOCIATION MEETING During a lengthy argument among members at the annual meeting of the Wellington Rugby Referees’ Association held last night, strong exception was taken by a certain section to the method used' by other members in canvassing for support for a set of nominations they had drtiwn up for the pffleers to be elected for the year. It was stated that some of the members had formed an informal committee before the meeting to draw up a “ticket” of officers which it wished to be elected, and had sent circulars to members on those lines. Those members stated in reply to this criticism that the remaining faction in the association had done the same tiling, with the exception that, after drawing up their ticket of nominations, they had approaeher members orally for their support. This gave rise to a discussion over the fairness of the courses which had been adopted, members on both sides holding that their action had been taken with the purpose of generally strengthening the committees of the association.
All nominations were then received and the following officials were elected’ —President, Mr. D. Calcinai; vlcepre*dent, Major J. King; classification committee, Messrs. J. Francis, C. Bradley, D. Paris, and G. Ratbbon; appointment committees, Messrs. D. Chant, D. Paris, and H. Leith; management committee, Messrs. A. R. Morris, Dunn, K. Matthews, and H. J. Wilson.
