AFTERNOON PARTY

Madam Pao Entertains

Madam Pao, wife of the Chinese Consul, gave a delightful tea party at No 8 Brougham Street, yesterday afternoon. The drawingroom was filled with the colour and fragrance of roses, and big bowls of arum lilies added their stately note to the decorations. The tea table was covered with a lovely, piece of Chinese hand-woven tapestry, with a 300 years old vase as centrepiece, and on smaller tables were exquisite cloths of the finest and most delicate hand-made lace. Madam Pao received her guests in a Chinese tunic of delphinium blue printed satin. They were Signora Formichella, Mrs. W. A. Armour, Mrs. C. W. Earle, Mrs. Erreld G. Martin, Mrs. Duncan Bauchop. Mrs. Arthur Bradley, Mrs. E. E. Gillon, Mrs.. Bennie, Miss Marjorie Bennie, Madam Yen, Mrs. Raphael, Mrs. Orebough.
