Gillies—Ranger The wedding of Naomi Ellen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Ranger, to Archibald John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. .John Gillies, both of Ohakune, was-solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Mr. Farr was the officiating minister, and Mrs. Seth Smith was at the organ. The bride, who wore, a charming frock of white panne velvet, and carried a sheath of arum lilies and asparagus fern, was escorted to the altar by her father. She was attended by her sister Muriel, in a dress of green satin falaise with shoes and stockings to tone. Her bouquet comprised pink roses and lily of the valley. Mr. L. Thurlow was best man. . A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride’s parents, Tohanga Road, where the guests were received by Mrs. Ranger, who was wearing a smart Donegal tweed costume. The bride’s going away frock was of green flecked tweed with coat and. hat to tone. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Gillies’s future home will be at Tauwhare, "W ai* kato. 0 Clark —Newsome Trinity Methodist Church, Wanganui, was tastefully decorated with summer flowers on Saturday for the wedding of Gertrude Isabel, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Newsome, Wanganui, and Frederick Edward, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Clark, also of ’Wanganui. The Rev. Mr. Dudley performed the ceremony, and Mr. W. Hutchens was at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of pale pink georgette, with close-fitting bodice, and long skirt, pin-tucked, and inset with fine lace. The sleeves of the coatee were shirred and puffed. 'The tulle veil was also pink, and caught with orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of pale pink roses and maidenhair fern. The Misses Muriel Dennis, Dulcie Newsome, and Beth Tulloek acted as bridesmaids, wearing pale green georgette, and fancy crinoline hats in pale beige, trimmed with roses that matched their bouquets. Leigh Newsome and Lena Crichton were flower girls, wearing Kate Greenaway frocks of green crepe de chine, and headbands of rosebuds. . Messrs. J. Andrew, H. Clark, and S. Cowie supported the bridegroom. A reception was held at the Elrick Rooms after the ceremony, when Mrs. Newsome received her guests, wearing dark brown marocain and lace, with straw hat to tone; and carrying deep red roses. Mrs. Clark wore cinnamon crepe de chine and lace, and straw hat to match, and her posy was of apricot roses. When Mr. and Mrs. Clark left, the latter wore a platinum grey summer cloth costume, blue blouse, and hat.
