First Election Under Reform Bill GOVERNMENT MAJORITY (Received November 5, 7 p.m.) Sydney, November 5. The counting of the preferences for the first fifteen Legislative Councillors was concluded last night. The successful candidates in order of election are Messrs. Murray, Peden, Farrar, Alam, Cambridge , Hawkips, Horne, Manning. Martin, Moulder, Tout, Higgins. Concannon, King, and Trautwein. AU are sitting members except Mr. Trautwein, who beat Mr. McGrath for last place. Labour sprang a surprise by getting fourth place. Messrs. Martin, Concannon and King are State Labour and Mr. Higgins is Federal Labour. Mr. Trautwein is an independent and the others are Government supporters.
