DAMAGE TO STOCK

City Clothing Shop Fire A fire occurred at 2 o’clock on Saturday morning in the clothing shop of Duncan and Macintosh, in Manners Street. The outbreak was quickly extinguished and little structural damage was done, but the stock suffered considerably from fire, smoke, and water. The Central Fire Brigade received the alarm at 2 a.m. Two engines were sent out and the fire was easily put out. The shop is a double one, situated at 82 and 84 Manners Street, in a brick and concrete building owned by the Maurice O’Connor Estate. The fire started near the eastern wall of the shop and was confined to that side, the rest of the three-story building being undamaged. Both the building and the stock were covered by insurance.
