TWO MEN INJURED

Benzine Fumes Explode Dominion Special Service. Tuihapc, November 2. Shortly after 8 o’clock this morning a borough employee named F. Sainty, when sharpening a chisel on an emery wheel in the workshop and storeroom behind the Town Hall, in Hautapu Street, was badly burned about the face, hands, and chest as the result of an explosion. This was caused by the trail of sparks from the emery wheel igniting benzine fumes from a power grader. A window was blown clean out of the shed. Another employee, W. Gardner, was also burned, but not to. the same extent as was Mr. Sainty. The heat melted two sticks of gelignite nearby, but the absence of detonators prevented them exploding. Both men were removed to hospital .for treatment. Mr. Sainty, who was gassed at the war, is suffering from shock.
