Mr. Buck announced that a eix-furlong all-ages race, an “international speed test," would be run at the United Hunt Club’s meeting at Belmont Park on November 7, in which Winooka will participate. The race will be limited to the four starters, as stipulated by Mr. Naylor, who first insisted, that only two other horses be allowed to run. The selection will be made from Good Advice, Sargeant Byrne, Tambour, Goldstep, Okapi,' Flying Heels, and Springsteel. The purse will be of 2000 dollars, the starters to subscribe 250 dollars each, and the weights 101 b below scale. The race will be the fifth or sixth race, the main event being the Whitney Gold Cup, in which Dark Secret and Mate have been entered. Polson said that Winooka would be shipped from Maryland to New York on Saturday. The Maryland Jockey Club announced a “special race by invitation” on November 10 for three-year-olds and upward over a mile and seventy yards, the weights to be 101 b below scale. The subscription will be 250 dollars, with 2500 dollars added. The second horse will save his stake. The field is limited to five starters, and the entries close on November 8. Mr. Naylor has agreed, to bring Winooka back from New York for the race, which otherwise will not be held.
