Pethrick —Watts The wedding took place recently at the Cuba Street) Methodist Church, Palmerston North, of Mary Caroline, eldest daughter of Mrs. A. Watts and the Jate Mr. C. W. Watts, of Palmerston North, to Stanley Huia, third son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Pethrick, of Napier. , - The Rev. N. Smith, of Woodville, a cousin of the bridegroom, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr. R. T. Watts, of Hastings, wore a gown of silver grey satin, with touches of red, and a grey pedaline straw hat. I She carried a sheaf of red tulips. The bride’s younger sister, Miss Frances Watts, was the only bridesmaid, and she wore an ankle length frock of red, trimmed with grey. A sheaf bouquet of rhododendrons, roses and antirrhinums was carried. Mr. Ray ■ Carleton, of Wellington, acted as best man. Mrs. Watts, who received the guests at the reception, wore a wine coloured crinkle crepe frock trimmed with beige lace, and hat to match. Her flowers were double lilac, and mignonette. Mrs. Pethrick, mother of the bridegroom, wore a dress of floral crepe de chine, a black Kat, and carried a posy to tone. When the bride and bridegroom left by car for the south, the bride wore a smart diagonally striped coat of grey with hat and shoes to match. They were farewelled to the tune of the bagpipes played by Mr. R. T. Watts. Their future home will be in Dannevirke. * * * Callil—Moron The wedding took place, at St. 'Joseph’s Church, Buckle Street, on October 30, of Mary Barbara, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Moron, Wellington, (io Philip, son of Mr. and Mrs. Callil, Melbourne. The Rev. Dr. A. J. Mcßae, assisted by Father Nolan, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin embroidered with seed pearls. Her veil of Brussels lace was caught with orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of cream roses and lily-of-the-valley.. The bridesmaids, Misses Aneesie Zemba and Sophie Mansor (a cousin of the bride), wore long frocks of cream suzette with pleated frills, and taffeta sashes and picture hate of pale blue. Little Pauline Michael, Martinborough, a niece of the bride, who was trainbearer, was also dressed in cream suzette. Mr. Peter Moron was best man and Mr. George Waken was groomsman. The ushers were Mr. G. Moroon-Joseph and Mr. M. Zemba. At the reception, which was held at the Mayfair Cabaret, Mrs. Moron received t>he guests in a dress of violet satin with hat to match. She was assisted by her daughters, Mrs. Michael and Mrs. E. Miller (Carterton). Mrs. Michael was wearing a dress of oyster French deque with a black picture hat, and Mrs. Miller’s dress of heavy white crepe was worn with a large white straw hat. Mrs. J. Peters (Inglewood) who also assisted, was wearing a russet brown mariette dress with a matching hat and a sable stole. When Mr. and Mrs. Callil left for a motor tour of the north the bride was wearing a squirrel coat over a striped jersey tweed frock, and a small toque. They will sail early jn December for their home in Melbourne.
