LADY STATHAM AT HOME
Wives of M.P.’s Entertained In the attractive buff-coloured setting of the Speaker’s Rooms at Parliament House, Lady Statham entertained a number of friends yesterday afternoon in honour of the wives of members of Parliament who are at present in Wellington. Cinerarias and primulas in all the lovely pastel shades were grouped on small tables, against the walls, and in the deep window embrasures. Lady 'Statham received, her guests beside a table on which a plant of pink azalea, covered with bloom, gave a delightful note of contrast'to her sapphire blue lace dress, which was made with a long, graceful coat effect. She was assisted by Mrs. 'Muntz, whose sage green frock of crepe georgette had a vest of ecru lace. A wide-brimmed hat of ecru tagel straw completed her very becoming costume. Mrs. G. W. Forties was among the guests, wearing black embossed velvet, a small black straw hat with touches of white, and an ermine stole. In spite of the large number present, there was plenty of room for moving about, and while tea and ices were served groups formed, broke up, and formed again in the happy manner which is the proof of successful entertaining.
