Licensing Act Breaches Members 'from all parts of New Zealand attended the annual meeting of the White Star Tourist Services, Ltd., held in Wellington yesterday. The president, Mr. J. Newman, was welcomed on his return from the United States. The secretary presented a report on legislation and said that there were 100 appeals awaiting attention and various reported cases of services being run without licenses and other breaches of the Transport Licensing Act. It was decided to communicate if possible with the Minister of Transport or with officers of the Transport Department It was reported that an award for transport drivers had been settled during the year and, as a number of operators were stated to be not carrying out the conditions of the award, the matter would be brought under the notice of the Labour Department. Mr. D. Martin, Wanganui, was elected president for the ensuing year, and Messrs. A. Newby, Hamilton, A. Lister, Timaru, and Miss C. Harvey, Napier, were appointed to vacancies on the directorate.
