Dominion Convention Opens By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, March 16. The business sessions of the forthynlnth Dominion convention of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union began to-day. The Dominion treasurer, Miss Lov-ell-Smith, submitted her report dealing with the organising fund, headquarters’ income and expenditure, literature fund, New Zealand fund. Maori fund, and work among seamen. In spite of the general financial depression the report was of an encouraging nature and showed satisfactory balance of cash in hand and of an excess of assets over liabilities. The report of the corresponding secretary, Miss Henderson, stated that there were nearly 10,000 on the cradle roll, an increase of 1000 on last year.
