MIDSUMMER SALAD
Required: 11b strawberries. -31 b grapes, 1 pear, * tin pineapple, 2 bananas. 1 gill cider. Hull the berries, dice the pineapple, and slice the bananas. Mix all the fruit together, except the pear and banana. Stand 3 hour in refrigerator with cover on top. Add diced pear and bananas and 1 (gill of the pinapple Juice, in which you have dissolved 2 tablespoons castor sugar, a squeeze of lemon juice, and 1 gill of cider. Serve with sponge fingers,' split, and put together with strawberry jam. and Devonshire or whipped cream. Enough for 6 persons.
