SHORTAGE OF FOOD
Many Maori Villages By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 17. A report on Maori mission work presented to the Canterbury Methodist Synod to-day said :— “The position is very grave in many Maori villages, for Natives have been forced to return to rough bush foods, particularly now that birds and fish are comparatively scarce. This is seriously affecting health, especially of children.”
