MEMORIAL CLOCK

For Free Ambulance Station It was announced yesterday by Mr. C. J. B. Norwood, president of the Wellington Free Ambulance, that Miss Birdie George had intimated her intention of presenting the Free Ambulance Association with an 18-inch faced elec-trically-controlled clock for the new station. Miss George had intimated that her gift would be a memorial to her father, Mr. Lance George, who died in London a little over a year ago. The late Mr. George had always been a great friend and helper of the Free Ambulance since ihe day of its inception in Wellington five years ago, and his daughter felt that she could not better show respect to his memory than by presenting this handsome time-piece to an institution her father had held in such high esteem. A suitablyinscribed plate would be affixed to the clock in due course.

On the motion of Mr. M. Marks, the board expressed its thanks to Miss George for her gift.
