“Dick Whittington” Next The director of the Children’s Theatre, Mr. F. H; Dawn, presided at a meeting of the players held recently at the residence of Mrs. C. Earle, Lower Hutt. The chief business was to receive the report and balance-sheet relative to the last production, “Fat King Melon” and “Griselda Married.” The report showed the growing interest in the Children’s Theatre movement, as proved by the crowded audiences, while the balance-sheet: showed a healthy credit balance to carry forward. > ■ - Mr. Dawn thanked all those who had combined by hard work and gifts to make the performances the brilliant success they were. He made special reference to the auditor, Mr. H. King. It was announced that “Dick Whittington” was to be the next production, the cast for which was then allotted. Great interest and keenness were shown by the players, apd everything points to “Dick Whittington” being an even greater success than its predecessors.
