SPRINGBOK ELEVEN
Visit to New Zealand PROPOSED PROGRAMME The visit of Mr. W. H. Winsor, secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council, to Sydney, in order to complete arrangements for the visit of the South African-team to New Zealand, appears to have been well worth while. Mr. Winsor and Mr. J. H. Tandy, manager of the South African team, recently waited upon the Australian Board of Cricket Control, with the result that the governing body in the Commonwealth, agreed that the match between the South African team* and Victoria, which had been set down to begin on February 6, will now be curtailed by a day, thus enabling the fifth Test match at Melbourne to start a day earlier. The fifth Test will now begin on February 11, which should give the South Africans ample time to finish tlie match and reach Sydney in time to leave for Auckland on February 19. It is expected that the New Zealand Cricket Council will announce the definite programme for the Dominion tour within tlie next few days. The provisional programme provided for matches against Auckland and Wellington and a Test match against New Zealand at Christchurch.
Mr. P. B. Broad, chairman of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association, is of opinion that the match against 'Wellington will be the third and last which the visitors will play, and that it will commence on the Basin Reserve on March 4 .
