Vacancies on Farms a SCHEME AT WANGANUI Wanganui, September 4. The success ot the scheme for the placing of boys on the land has met with favourable comment. Since the scheme was started by the mayor, Sir. N. G. Armstrong, and Mr. D. McFarlane took over the secretaryship In June, more than fifty boys have been placed on farms to work for their keep. Of all that number there has been only one case which has not been successful, and reports on the relations of the boys and their employers have been good. There are about a dozen farmers who are willing to have boys on the terms provided by the committee, and inquiries have been received from as far away as Masterton and Castlepoint.
