POPULAR BOY CONTEST
Unique Event in Wanganui
The lounge of the Wanganui Y.M.C.A. was packed to overflowing at the wind-up of the Popular Boy Contest. Friends of the contestants and enthusiastic supporters of the Y.M.C.A. gathered together to celebrate a function unique in the annals of the institution. There was much excitement as progress scores were announced during the presentation of an excellent concert rendered by the following artists: Miss Horwedl, elocution; Misses Wilson, duet; the Rev. Lambert, elocution; Mr. D. Blight, song; and Misses Hunia and Marumaru, huka. Each of the seven candidates presented an item toward the entertainment.
