WEDDINGS

Price—Callaghan All Saints’ Church, Wanganui East, was recently the scene of the wedding of Josephine Fitzgerald, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Callaghan, of Glasgow, Scotland, and Leonard Robert, second son of Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Price, Wanganui East. The Rev. V. A. Bianchi was the officiating clergyman, and Miss J. Marshall presided at the organ. The bride, who was given in marriage by Mr. W. A. Dewar, wore a frock of white georgette and lace, with an uneven hem-line. Her veil was of embroidered tulle, bordered with fancy thread-work, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, intermingled with maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Miss Margaret Neill as bridesmaid, who wore a frock of pink georgette, with a flounced skirt, and hat to tone. Her bouquet was of pink roses and maidenhair fern. Miss Betty Dewar made a pretty little flower-girl, wearing pink crepe-de-ehine, and carrying a basket of pink carnations and primroses. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. R. A. Price, as best man. After the service the 50 guests were entertained' at the wedding breakfast held in All Saints’ Schoolroom, where the bride and bridegroom sat beneath a beautiful white wedding bell. The guests were received by Mrs. W. A. Dewar, who wore a frock of silk georgette, with a fawn silk coat, and with hat to tone. Mrs. Price, the bridegroom's mother, wore a frock of black crepe-de-chine, with a black silk coat, and black hat. Among the guests present were:—Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Dewar, Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Steedman —Dinsdale

The wedding was celebrated at St. Luke’s Church, Te Kuiti, recently of Dorothy, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Hinsdale, ot Te Kuiti, and Cecil James, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Steednmn, of Whangarei. The KeV. Newbould conducted the ceremony. The bride,'who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory satin cut in long slender lines forming a train at the back. Her tight-fitting bodice had a V neck and long tight sleeves. The train was of Brussels lace, lined with gold georgette and finished with pearls. Over it, forming a longer train, fell a beautiful embroidered veil which was clasped to the head with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of cream chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids were Miss Trix Hinsdale (chief), the twin sister of the bride, Miss Joyce Burton, Te Kawa, and Miss Jean Steedman. Whangarei, who were similarly dressed in frocks of gold fische net over gold georgette with their skirts falling to ankle-length, and side panels of ruching. They carried sheaves of autumn colours in golder tints. Golden felt berets with large bows at the nape of the nfeck were worn. The best man was Mr. Kentish Rowe Herbert, of Auckland. The groomsmen were Mr. Don Steedman, Whangarei, and Mr. Cecil R. Perkins, Auckland, and the ushers Mr. John Dinsdale and Mr. Bruce Johnstone. Pitkethly—Whyman A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Taihape, on April 29, when Jean Monteith, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Whyman, of Taihape, and formerly of Wanganui, was married to Bruce Maitland, second son of Mrs. Pitkethly, of Auckland. The Rev. Stevenson was the officiating minister, and the wedding music was played by Mr. G. Pitkethly, brother of the bridegroom. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a dainty ankle-length frock of ivory satin and georgette with shirred hip yoke. Large satin roses, embroidered with silver, formed the hemline. Her veil was scalloped and beautifully embroidered, and she carried a bouquet of white dahlias, freesias and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid was Miss Annie Whyman, of Wanganui, sister of the bride, who wore an anklelength frock of turquoise georgette, with fully flared skirt. Her Bangkok hat, toned with the frock, and she held a beautiful bouquet of pink-shaded flowers , and maidenhair fern.

Mrs. Whyman wore a figured silk frock, navy silk coat, Bangkok hat and pearl grey fox fur, and she carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted dahlias, marigolds and maidenhair fern’ Mrs. Pitkethly, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a navy frock, navy coat, black hat and brown fox fur. Her bouquet was of red roses, heath violets and maidenhair fern. 'The bridegroom was attended by Mr. J. Coombe, of Wellington. A reception •■was afterward held at the New Commercial Hotel, where the guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Whyman. The usual toasts were honoured and the happy couple were the recipients of a large number of telegrams and many good wishes. The bride wore for going away a bottle green marocain frock and navy silk coat and hat to tone. Among the guests present were: Mrs. Monteith, grandmother of the bride; Mrs. Pitkethly, Auckland; Mr. and Mrs. Short, Wanganui; Mrs. and Miss Newson, Palmerston North; Mr. and Mrs. Scott, Taihape ;Mrs. Fife, Wanganui; Mr., Mrs. and Miss Gam by, Taihape; Mr. and Mrs. G.
